Quilt show report

Marty and I went to the Bloomington quilt show last weekend. We were both impressed with how many quilts there were since all of the quilts were made by members of the local guild. Here are some of our favorites:

We both thought this one was impressive!

This one is called ‘Nancy’s Flower Garden,’ so of course I liked it.

Especially cool to our vest and jacket makers.

I liked the applique and colors on this one.

And one more I liked.

The first quilt is more than impressive – it’s incredible!! How in the world did the quilter figure out how to distort the star designs in the tumbling blocks to get them to look 3-D? OK, she probably got the pattern from somewhere, but someone had to figure it out. It is also gorgeous. Wow!

I agree with Ann – that first one is incredible! I’m guessing it was done with a computer quilting program like Electric Quilt. I also like the vest, but then, I really like scrappy quilts, batiks, and string piecing, so it pretty much goes without saying that I’d like the vest!
